  Is it just me or has this site become a Believer/Atheist warzone?

  i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.

  i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.

  it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.

  What makes you think anyone on this forum has any meaningful answers to those sort of questions? Or are you just stroking your own ego? The questions you ask suggest a lack of knowledge, yet you claim to know a great deal.

  Ask those who KNOW this stuff for answers IF answers is what you want. Asking those who appear to know less than you claim to know suggests an ulterior motive.

  i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.

  i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.

  it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.

  You tell 'im Suity Boy, I likes your thinking.

  However you do need to look up hallucinations and realise quite a few people hear voices and see things without any underlying cause (mental illness, drugs etc etc)

  The delusion is then attributing the voice to something outside of the hearers head.

  I am free!!! What Shall I do on this Meeting Night?

  so i am at a loose end tonight.

  i am not going to the meeting and sitting on the back row looking repentant no way!.

  here are some options... care to add some if you wish, help me to decide.. 1. go to the meeting and sit in the middle, reading "einstein and religion" paperback, go in early and stay after the prayer.

  The first few weeks when i stopped going it was fantastic to sit and watch TV on a Thursday night, it was strange at 1st, but after about 6 weeks the meeting never even crossed my mind.

  Wow! My brother is just too dumb for words....

  ok we know it's a stupid mind control cult but sometimes to see it in the flesh is just a slap in the face.... i lent my brother karen armstrongs the bible - the biography, which is a great book to help understand the bible, i have read it twice and it was very informative.

  i had hoped my brother may find it likewise and actually learn something.. not a frickin chance.

  he gave the book back today with an agitated tone and told me it was crap and that he didnt want me to show him any other books, he had got to page 21, so had only managed the introduction and 12 pages of chapter 1 of a book with 229 pages (300+ if you include glossary and appendix).. inside were some postit noted with notations he'd written about dates quoting from insight volumes and scripture inspired to "correct" the dates in the book for events and dates of reigns like manassahs and hezekiahs.. basically he got mad that the book disagreed with what his drone cult brain read in the wts volumes and refused to read any further.. ffs he didnt even look at another outside source at all, just assumed the book was making error after error on dates and got annoyed.. i am shocked he could be just that dumb.

  Not really had the chance to, I forced it at our last meeting by tacking it on out of the blue as they were about to leave.

  I just didnt want it left in the air, but I think they just want to avoid thinking about anything or talking about anything that may upset their world view. Here's the gist of it:

  I said "you are going to hate me for bringing this up, but ...... you do know what a coregent is dont you?"

  Him (+wife) "yes, two kings ruling together"

  Me " so if someone is coregent for 10 years and then king for 45 years how many years has he reigned for 45 or 55?"

  Them - blank stares, wondering wtf am i on about, " 45 years" seem very unsure so i repeat the question again

  Them - similar answers, wife contadicts him.

  Me " They are both correct answers as it depends on the context, it's true to say he ruled 45 or 55 years ... you didnt bother to look it up did you when you read that book, I just wanted you to know."

  This was one of the points he made a postit note of in my book, the book said one figure the insight book said the other, but he hadnt bothered to ask why the difference. I wanted him to know that both are correct, not either / or.

  Wife gets sarcastic saying "Ooookaaaay" probably because she doesnt even know why I even brought it up, my brother knows why and remains quiet.

  They leave. I know I am losing them to mind control.

  A real difficult congregation???

  myself and my family have had some odd experiences in our current congregation.

  i have'nt been to meetings since september because of this.. 1. the co told the elder who was studying with my husband that he was doing it as an "academic exercise.

  " my husband is very intelligent, been in the military, has a degree and a masters and a good job.
